I voted 250-400, but I stay on the lower side of this. The most I've spent on a folder is $275. I've got a few in the 200+ range, and I've been strongly tempted by some Hinderers, but that is getting up in handgun range and I usually buy another gun when I have that much cash laying around. I don't have a CRK or a Hinderer, but if I did it would be one of these. I'm pretty content with my mid $200 range Folders, and I can't complain about my $100+ Spidies. I'm pretty sure a Hinderer would be my only deviation. One of the Legion series Hinderers would be my Grail.

The only folders I like are kershaw blurs, so I max out @ $100. More like 70 bux

I can't honestly see myself ever paying much more than $100 for a knife again, be it fixed or a folder.

I voted up to the $500 range. I am looking at a Hinderer Half Track and at this point won't make the leap above that threshold. Only a new Hinderer has pushed me over $400.

My blade collection, at the moment, is roughly half folders and half fixed. So I like folders. In fact, I would estimate 75% of my knife use is cutting with folders. To start with, I live in suburbia, as part of a larger city with an extraordinarily high crime rate. To carry a fixed blade on a belt would only draw a great deal of attention. And to pocket carry a fixed blade is far less convenient than just pulling a folder and one hand opening it.

However, when I am anywhere rural or in the woods I carry multiple fixed blades with a folder as a 3rd backup. Outside the metro areas, Missouri is an incredibly gun/knife friendly state. You have to dress according to your surroundings. Sadly, I don't get to dress for the country often enough.

So far, the most I've spent on a folder is $320. Got a good deal on an ADV milspec harpoon. I really like the design of the ADV knives. I'll probably buy more. I guess price depends on what I'm currently interested in.

From my time hangimg with a certain agency that shall not be named, we were taught just to call all currency "scoots". Made things easier when you went to a new country. "How man scoots you got?" Or "How many scoots to a dollar?"

You travel enough and fast enough and you'll eventually do something like this: try to pay for drinks poolside in Tirana, Albania with scoots from Budapest, Hungary. Even the waiter accepted them at first. True story.

The most I'd pay is $400 or slightly more for a new CRK. $200 is my normal top end.
