    Quick update here, blades are getting ready for grinding and heat treat. We are looking to be pretty close to on schedule, or just a tiny bit behind. But no serious bumps in the road just yet. Next week will begin cutting leather belt loops and then start the finishing process on those. Also, sorting compasses and getting prepped on that end. All good stuff!

    OK, some more details on the finishes, and I am interested in feedback. As mentioned, on the base model of the PACKLite the blade will have a GunKote finish and the guard, handle and buttcap will have a high quality custom anodized finish. Having the entire knife finished in GunKote will be available for a modest upgrade, but it is too labor intensive for the base model.

    I am trying to get the anodized finish as close as possible to the GunKote, and believe we have come about as far as reasonably possible. The anodizing is very flat as far as sheen, so they will never be a perfect match. But in the picture below, the anodized is on the left, and GunKote is on the right. What does everyone think?

    To reiterate, ALL of the blades will be finished in GunKote, and everything else will be anodized, for the base model. Feedback welcome.

    Blaze orange is not on the table right now. We are sticking with one color, if things go well I will explore other colors. If not, it won't matter, lol.

    Thank you! And there were more in that camp than I had thought, enough so that we made that an option. So thank you for speaking up!

    @Bushman5 said in the group chat that you're scared of lots of things, but mainly hygiene.

    I got one other set of samples in and believe we have a winner. This is supposed to be a higher quality anodizing, also.

    Thank you! It's not easy to keep the quest for perfection under control, but a mid-tech is a very different animal than a custom, so trying to find the balance here.

    They will all have the sharpening choil, it is cut in at the beginning on the mid-techs. If you had asked me in Canadian, I might have been able to help you.

    @Twoody88 ,

    Sam means that if you bribe him with a case of 5 liter metal tins of pure Canadian Maple Syrup from Quebec, he might be able to accommodate your request. :D
