Been playing with this rough prototype the last day or so. Really, really like this design. Wish I had a deer to skin. I'm learning why this style is so nice. Very light. Thin blade. It's designed for what knives should be designed for--cutting things. Not batoning 8" hickory rounds. Not killing Zombies. Not prying open a car door. Just cutting stuff that needs cutting. This is for you, @Bushman5 ....
I've tried a few similar knives on deer over the years. I always seem to come back to a drop point. Although the buck 103 does occasionally get used
That's what I'm saying. Strong enough to baton some serious wood, and still do finer tasks. Just thinking about it is giving me some "serious wood"
The original was also thin. Sears said that, "The [knife] shown in the cut is thin in the blade, and handy for skinning, cutting meat, or eating with."
Anything over 1/8" for a nessmuk is blasphemy. This is one blade that's just simply not meant for hard use. It's meant to be a mean slicer, and be used as a kitchen utensil for scooping food.
