I heard it was a Gerber knife from their Bear Grylls line.

Just for the record, the Expat Zippos are baton-rated.

Hammer them to your heart's content. If you get a chip, just call Mike.

As soon as he/she gets a replacement, we will see a torture test video on YouTube me thinks.

I agree with you, my only gripe is that I don't understand the entitlement of some people that makes them think they are entitled to a free knife after abusing it until failure.

If I did this and was impressed with how much abuse it took, I would want to support the company by BUYING another one, not expect them to just GIVE me another one.

That's because you're a decent person. Luckily, enough people are decent that companies like ESEE and LL Bean can keep the warranties like this in place.

Obviously if everyone who bought a knife returned it, they would have to change the warranty.

So, if I'm reading this right, in order to purchase a knife with a "no questions asked" warranty, the purchaser should have to answer a few questions first?

    Makes perfect sense....

Well, if you don't know, how are we sure you won't do the same thing???

Hint: Don't microwave them. Even though they're not made out of tin foil, you still can't put them in the microwave. (they don't tell you that on the box but it's true).

Completely impractical. Esee wouldn't sell any knives. None of us would be able to buy one anyway.

Number 4 may get me on a technicality. I can, but I more than likely will not.
