Traded our 33 foot Motorhome in on a 2024 Leisure Travel Van. 25 foot AWD on a Ford Transit Chassis. 3.5L twin turbo, 310hp, 400 foot lbs of torque. 10 speed transmission. Something more agile and nimble. Manufactured in Manitoba, Canada. Purchased it from a Dealer in Albuquerque and did a 2800 mile roadtrip out and back from east TN a couple of weeks ago. Overnighted in a couple of RV Parks, rest areas and Love's amongst the big rigs. Best day run 725 miles.
13.5 mpg at 1500 miles. Regular gas. The Cummins diesel was getting 10 at diesel prices plus DEF. Course major weight difference.
With over 1050 flights daily in and out of Las Vegas and over 400 for Albuquerque then add in flyover LA, AZ, TX and CO...I can see for miles. It's not surprising under these atmospheric conditions to see contrails. This is big sky country. Combustion of jet fuel results in CO2, H2O, CO, C, NOx, particles and a great number of organic compounds. Among the emitted hydrocarbons (HCs), no compound (indicator) characteristic for jet engines could be detected so far. Jet engines do not seem to be a source of halogenated compounds or heavy metals.
