Are you all good with just black linen micarta instead of black and tan?

They’re in for the first temper right now. Had a guy want something “cooler” than the desert iron wood and box elder burl I got for him.....I ended up combining scrap Kirinite with what was left of the tan micarta. I have plenty black linen on hand though.

I can't speak for everyone but I don't think scale color really matters.

That’s a great idea never thought of the coconut idea! I know where to get some and have at it. I was also going to cut some vines off my back fence but now I’m waiting to get it real bad for the testing, lol.
Yeah the hunting part is what I’m excited about, the blade shape looks great as an all arounder. It’s also in the size range I like. 3.5-4.25 inch is my favorite.

I’m glad I decided to attach the handles like I normally do: gflex and flared steel tubes. I’m not sure how you guys are planning on testing but I guess we’ll see what happens. They’re tempered to right around 60 HRC. Personally I prefer a 5” blade and 3/16” thick but I usually carry my 4” every day because it draws less attention. I’m interested in how it performs on the coconut as well, I’ve seen a lot of broken blades from that test.

I’ll have to look for both green and dry coconuts two very different substances in the husk.

We used to have a dog that went bananas on dry coconuts and would tear at them until they were completely husked. My grandma loved it. She used the husks for her orchids and had an endless supply.

I'm in, assuming it's still on offer of course. I'll take the 2nd from the bottom, I really like that one. The handle looks incredible! Seriously...

If you're still accepting participants please add me to the list. There's 3 feet of snow on the ground now, so I might have to post-hole my way to a spot, but I need to get out of the friggin house. This might give me incentive.
