...I've been in sniper school this week. And I'm now certified. For a whole year. In all 50 states. I was in the graduating Class of Wednesday at 3:30. We had a nice ceremony. I don't want to brag but I did get a 100% on my qualifying exam. I would like to thank Remington, Vortex, Magpul, Federal, Peltor, 5.11, Harris, and Red Oxx for their support. A special thanks to @Allen Morrison , who made the mag pouches that I used throughout my time on the range. If any of you know of any hostage situations or bank robberies or anything like that that needs a sniper, feel free to PM me so I can respond. I believe Shane or Patrick got a picture or two so I'll see if I can get some to post up.
Sniper school? Isn't that where they teach you to snipe hunt? Congrats. {After hearing what he did to the ESEE corporate jet, I'll never feel safe in the US again. }
A funny tale....when I got to know the PH I was with in Mozambique (he and I have actually remained friends - both his daughters are grown and have families here in Aus) he confided in a number of things that he DOES NOT want to hear from a new client (on the drive our from the airport they subtly spend some of the conversation trying to get to know you and rate you on the idiot scale - my words not his!) ..."I just bought a new rifle for this trip" rates up there, as does "I have a .470" (as it seems so many have bought them and just can't use them well enough), "I have a double rifle for the trip" ( a bit like the .470, many just don't shoot a big double well enough or often enough to be proficient and most of the PHs I met considered doubles as great BACK UP rifles, not so much the primary arm these days)....and finally....to add relevance here "I have just been to sniper school" was an absolute for them....
I’ve got a few neighborhood dogs that need eliminating. Do you have your own face paint or will I need to provide some?
So...do you have any advice for those of us regarding the judging and taming of the the fickle demon...wind, or do that be covered in the next class?
Yes. Based on literally hours of experience, here is my absolute take-it-to-the-bank advice: No matter what you do, never, ever shoot farther than 100 yards.
