So , while at Chester’s Chicken after our monsoon exploration trip , I noticed I’d lost the base plate off my 60” HiLift Jack Extreme.

Ugh! The trail side overgrowth probably pulled the linch pin out, (which I’ve been meaning to wrap in baling wire for like ten years :D)

however as I was waiting for that chicken perfection, I scrolled thru my photos. And suddenly I knew EXACTLY where the base plate had been lost on the trail

    AUGH! Where’s the baseplate!
    IMG_5835.jpeg
It was on just 50’ back on the trail
    IMG_5836.jpeg

I did drive through these thickets about 30’ back……

    IMG_5834.png

And thats exactly where Bro found the plate. No linch pin though

    lol

@TuffPossumGear survival scarf works extremely well as a bindlestick bindle

the water hole on the hydro FSR is very full , almost 8’ deep. Perfect spot to fill the canteens with the Katadyn Pocket Filter

new pouch by Carcajou Tactical, a local Canadian Veteran owned gear company . It’s pretty baddazz . I’m going to be working with them to hopefully get a webbing rig design made by them ……

Old wooly sock to protect the filter from bumps

Forest puddle , will be around until about July .

    IMG_5917.jpeg

The lean too did not fare well under the heavy winter snows up here. That’s ok, planning a better build nearby soon
    IMG_5948.jpeg IMG_5949.jpeg IMG_5951.jpeg

Time for lunch . I used the bindle to haul in homemade tuna salad with chili’s, olive oil, garlic, onions, herbs . Plus a pouch of baked beans, some sourdough bread, 10 year aged/smoked British cheddar , Spanish fennel salami, and a hot pickle .

    Time for a brew up!

    IMG_5990.jpeg

drank coffee and made a proper bindlestick
    IMG_5991.jpeg IMG_5992.jpeg

Put the fire out, rucked up and headed out . The snow levels had rapidly dropped over the 5 hours I was there. And that rock bluff looks like an elephant! (2nd pic)
    IMG_5993.jpeg IMG_5995.jpeg

Mud puddle. Time to refill the canteens
    IMG_5996.jpeg

    That’s it!
