I know a guy that manages Belle isle for the owner. The owner was also allowing ldwf to use his land as a study area. The ldwf black bear CO issued them a box of rubber buckshot because the bears were breaking into the camp and damaging the storage sheds. Guy shoots bear with issued shotshells and low and behold a couple regular 00 buck was mixed in and he killed the bear. Took over two years to get the restitution and charges thrown out over killing a nuisance bear. The lady that runs black bear research is a loon. I met her a couple time when I worked in their marine fisheries department, made me change my mind about working with that group really quick.
