My son just got home from sone friends when he pulled up in his drive (I think it's a she) the bitch came off the patio and went in the back yard which is of course fenced in. Exhilarating lol I'd love to put the bitch down but we got neighbors and a scoped 280 isn't practical with houses for shooting lanes and I don't want the publicity putting her down with an AR lol so the double defense and a 9mm were what we had to work with. I'm going grab a drink.
Well that was fun. To continue so now the bear is fenced in the back yard. Now I'm not a bear hunter or any sort of trained "specialist" but we needed a plan so a plan we had. To set a bit of point? In this area when you put up a fence you put in a gate for your neighbor(all my neighbors are in-laws) so it's a sort of network of gates through the neighborhood. Gates relevant to plan. Plan: son goes around front of house to the fence with the 9 and a FenixLD75C(shameless plug but this light Rocks! Anyhow he has the light and the 9 I'm going through my back yard to my gate to his yard behind the garage. Plan is light up the yard and hopefully a couple of "steering warning shots" can get her back out the gate. My son had said she was "big" (we never seem to give these points relevant consideration) she was in fact about 5+ Feet on all 4's as we or at least I soon found out. So we instituted the plan(on a side note we have a huge pile of lumber and wood for an upcoming gathering) so I was more or less inbetween this pile and the garage with a view of both gates. When he lit up the light I guess he was "nervous" because he lit it up and fired one off(into the air) I was not really expecting just a shot like that so I moved in thinking the bear was right by him. No the bear was right on the other side of the pile as I moved up she she came across and I peppered her ass(literally) I checked my ass and remarkably I was not in need of wiping. I bet. It looked pretty bad just driving down the highway. I could just imagine how many critters it made migrate to populated areas.
We're starting to get them creeping into the suburbs around town, but no where near what y'all are dealing with there. I lauch for work out of Centerville under the bridge and I've saw two in daylight less than two months apart by Bayou Teche national refuge. Ldwf needs to get off there duff and start the lottery season now that they're federally delisted and add permits land damaging problem bears. Good luck man and I hope ldwf don't give ya too much bs.

At the rate it's going pics could end up in the paper lol We got at least 3 bears and a CO having a sissy fit lol I'll fill in the rest when time permits but +1for LEO when the CO was having his melt down telling me I can shoot the bear and that he would get a court order to place the trap lol he kept telling the deputy "tell him" "tell him" he cannot shoot the f***ing bear! The deputy looked at me a said hey you can't shoot the bear. I said which one? He said I don't know but I'm guessing the black one. Lol
Just the restitution is about$10,000 per bear. They had guy shot one by accident called LDWF and cost him close to $50,000 when it was done.

You better have it on film that it's attacking. Louisiana black bear is still protected at state level. They don't play when it come to them. We can't legal take one.
They just came of endanger list this year. We have a good Heath population in the areas that have them now. They suppose to do we didn't have but a few probably 10 to 15 years ago. So it's a big come back but still only certain parts have them.
