Turns out that tornado was 1500’ away from that weather station.
Winds at the tornado itself were 170 mph.

I'm sitting here waiting on the mail lady and realized that the pellet rifle she is bringing cost more than any of my real guns

AEA HP Backpacker .22. It's semiauto with a 700cc carbon fiber bottle. It has a folding ar stock and a 13" barrel plus about a 5" can. It's pretty compact and packs a punch. I had a problem with the barrel shroud though. It blew off on the first shot. Apparently the glue holding the thread insert in the carbon tube failed.

I didn't buy it for hunting, but I will hunt with it. I don't really hunt unless something is getting my chickens. I plan to use it as much as reasonable as a replacement for.22lr.

I bought it's big brother a while back. It's a .35 cal side lever repeater. It will send a 95 grain pellet 1200 fps. It has the energy of a.38 special, I need to order some heavier slugs and see what it can really do. IMG_20220323_185847011.jpg

I don't like public speaking, but I was selected to tell a short story about a safety success or improvement this afternoon. I give safety briefings monthly for our shop, but those are the people I work with every day. Today I have to do it for the command deck, the directors and a bunch of other big wigs. I just found out all this, this morning.

Thanks, I'm sure you are correct. I just won't be comfortable doing it. Things like this sometimes give me anxiety,

Today was actually a rehearsal for our recertification in a few months, so it wasn't too bad. I did get nervous and kinda lost in my thoughts towards the end, but I got a hour off award from our director for it.

Does anyone know if Benchmade lost their patent or maybe the patent expired on their Axis locking system?

The W Mart has their “Christmas stocking stuffers” IE $5.98 (I believe that is the price) Ozark Trail knives.

I would swear that one of the knives with a green plastic handle and a drop point blade has an identical to the Axis lock system??

I bought 2 to try out and maybe disassemble one and they have one of the best lock ups of any sub $10 I’ve seen.

I think the axis lock patent expired a couple years ago.

    @The Marsh Gorilla
    That would make sense.
For the $$ it’s hard to beat the Ozark Trail “gift knives”
This knife specifically they probably spent the money on the lock so the put on cheap scales.
I might see what it would take to add some nicer scales. It could make an awesome little knife for some Boy Scouts.

Always trying to find decent inexpensive knifes for Boy Scouts. I find they loose them at an expedited rate… So don’t recommend parents spend to much $$.

times have changed I guess, when I was in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and then Rangers if you lost your Swiss Army Knife , you'd get extra dishwashing duty, latrine cleaning duty, firewood cutting/splitting duty, raking the forest floor clean of burnables etc.

Never mind the extra push-ups / pull ups and running
