Yup - Survive! GSO-10 in CPM-3v This is my first Survive! knife - but I've been itching to get one and I'm stoked this one worked out. You can find them for sale frequently, but they are typically way overpriced (due to the long production times for factory orders).
My new spyderco came in a day early. Surprised that USPS didn't jerk me arround. Urban sprint run made with K390 steel.
Not cool Dag couldn't even hold off a day before posting! Was still working on autographed copy but I guess you just had to eh! I guess if the twin sheeps I offered weren't enough then nothing was going to redirect shipping my way minus the coyote sheath! Booooooo Dag....... hahaha
Oh my "West SIDE" Gangsta??? OR is that just a really awkward thumbs up??? ha! She's way expensive, and its only starting!!!
Jeez tell me about it! plus she has a little sister (7 months old) that's right behind her growing up way to fast!
You'll be alright. We haven't started with kids yet but I'm the oldest of 5 with about 40 cousins between both sides of the family so I understand the cost and commitment. My grandmother used to tell me I am going to be cursed (and blessed) with gorgeous girls for the womanizing I did before I met my wife.
She was wise beyond her years! You pay for both your rising and your womanizing! Its like a double tax on life... ahhhhhh whhhyyy was I such a pimp!!
Lmao! That's basically what my reaction was. I have 14 uncle's and she says "you're just like them and you're gonna pay like them". I brushed my shoulders off and walked to the liquor cabinet. I believe what she said though because my buddy just had a little girl with the most beautiful eyes and he was worse than me. He looks at me and says "yours is comin, pal".
Another WE (budget series) knife. Model: 703A. I chose green G-10 for something different than my usual black handled knife My 3rd WE, and I have to say this one isn't as top notch at the previous 2 models. It's very nice and very well made. But it has some...quirks. One, the detent isn't as nice as my other 2. It feels a little weak, for my taste. That said, it flips very well. No false starts or flip failures. It's just not as snappy as my other 2 WE knives. The pivot had some play out of box, after I tightened it, the centering was off by a very negligible amount - we're talking almost microscopically off. It's damn near spot on, so who cares. Final "imperfection", the edge, altho good has poor tip sharpening. it's really wonky at the tip. They left it really fat and looks like the sharpener got a little lazy with his angle technique. Again, no biggy, but it's worth noting. Overall, still an excellent knife for 170.00 CDN.
Nice knife! I probably would have bought one buy now but I'm honest sick of seeing and hearing about we knives lol
My first (new to me) HEST folder showed-up today. It's #19 of the original "1st Run" in D2 steel, sterile black blade and all the goodies from DPx (skull tool, lanyard, bead, different clip and end plug). I had to tear it apart and give it a good cleaning. The blade was pretty off-center and the pivot was super tight/sticky. After some cleaning and adjustment - it flies open with authority but it's still a little tight on the detent while closing. I may swap some phosphor bronze washers in there, and some different thumb-studs. Any ideas for HEST folder upgrades/mods?
2000 grit wet/dry auto body paper, and a flat piece of glass. Use water and dish soap and polish all surfaces that mate with the pivot. do very little....you dont need much
