It's Lazer etched on the winklers I believe. Very fine details

Does anyone here use their Winkler tomahawks for anything practical? Not to take away their cool factor (they are super super cool) or their tactical value (albeit I’m not cool enough, or trained for combat fighting), but I’m curious if it’s a useful tool, especially for the price.

Makes holes nice. And splits wood as you'd hope :) 20220911_121517.jpg 20220911_144854.jpg

I havnt been out with it as much as I'd like but as it normally sits beside the bed..it will make for a great home defense tool also in the tight spaces here.

I just received my Combat Axe yesterday and while the build quality is impressive, I find the edge to be obtusely thick. Has anyone else found this? I understand the tang is 3/8” but didn’t expect such a short wide grind on the edge itself.

Some more observations. While I’m a freehand sharpener, it seems this is over 30 degrees, is that normal for a tomahawk? I love the size, finish and sound of this tool (aside from arriving a bit dull), but I don’t know that it’ll be with me long term.

think he made em a lil thicker for chopping thru the hard mud walls in certain combat areas.

They are know for good customer service too. A quick phone conversation or email and I’d bet they will adjust it to your liking double 4 time. Bushie is correct, tac choppers are often asked to survive oil drums, cinder block construction, automotive sheet metal. Hence the less than acute edge angles.

Has anyone reformed the sheath for the belt knife? My blade hits the second eyelet on the sharp side. I would like to refit it if possible without efing it up. Although I absolutely HATE the sheath. Does anyone know a kydex maker for the belt knife? Thanks for any reply

Thanks for the reply. I will probably do that. I don't really want another winkler sheath though. I don't like all the kydex and almost every one I see is I'll fitting. If the knife actually took up all the available space in the sheath it would be just awesome! But all the leftover kydex at the bottom just looks cheap and ish. Looks like some of my first attempts at molding kydex!! Not pretty at all!!

I've had some off centered set ones also. I wouldn't go that far though. The top 2 attachment holes adjust tentention when the back plates attached also fyi if your retention also an issue

I like the concept of the sheath it is a great idea and with a little more care in execution of the build , it would suit me for a variety of carry scenarios. I am still interested in finding a kydex builder as well as a leather pouch type sheath for it. Any body have any favorite makers? Oh plenty of retention with every way I've used it so far. It has only been giving me a problem for about 6 months now. I have had it a little over a year and a half now. The knife I absolutely love!! Would highly recommend to anyone.

I think the tolerances between each blade outta there is enough than you'd have to send in to any makers for a proper fit
