Hypothesis: Deadmau5 is @Jeff Randall. Or @Expat. I get confused. Which one crashed the ESEE jet in the Caribbean? He who crashed the jet is not ... __ ... ok, I'll get back to you on that ..
I checked on him last weekend and talked to him. Everything is fine, he got a new computer and just been busy with it and doing videos. He said he would check back in soon.
Thanks for asking, @Zeek . I appreciate it. And yes, as DL said, I'm doing well (other than continuing to live in this merde trou). I did get the new computer I've needed to do my work for almost a year. Almost finished with my phase 1 fundraising campaign (mostly among former students, clients, close friends, etc, but one person on this forum also -- name withheld to protect the innocent ), and got enough two weeks ago to order it: a souped up iMac with a 27" 5k Retina and extra video capabilities (4.2 GHz processor with 4 GB VRAM, 16 GB RAM (upgradable to 64), 512 GB SSD). It's my new diesel truck for video production. Earth will never be the same. It's also my ticket out of this merde trou to Scotland. So I've been super busy setting it up (file sorting and transfer), installing software, getting used to this extra hi res real estate (it is truly astounding), and making videos that have been on hold until I got it. I've been meaning to file a check in thread with details. Will do so asap, maybe this weekend (but the weather here is awesome until the remnants of Florence wash over us next week, so I'm trying to spend extra time in the woods. But since I'm here, I'll update about the topic of this thread: the madman downstairs. Only one of three eye witnesses who heard him threaten lives stepped up to report him. The other two decided they "didn't want to get involved". The one eye-witness report was enough to get him a stern, written warning from the company's legal department saying if he threatened anyone else, he's out. So he's calmed down, and is reportedly trying to be nice to people now. Right. I've still not been within 100' of him, and intend to maintain that distance -- other than the fact that my apartment is immediately above his. OK, back to work.

Here's more on the concept of retina. Apple used the name because ... their 5k looks like what the real one displays.
