And that one is even bigger :D
I often carry a 111 mm Adventurer, great EDC, but I agree for the Pioneer, I have 3 of them.
I guess you have some fancy coloured K&T ones as well :p

I'm constantly fighting with myself not to buy all the colored versions from K&T, it's a real struggle! Here are mine so far + the Adventurer for which I need to get black scales, as I have a thing for the old Centurion model back from my school days and the colour is the only difference.
I have to admit that the Pioner is IMO the most perfect pocket knife ever created, but this doesn't stop me from wanting a Farmer X so badly. And an Outrider too. I have a problem with SAKs :D

The local dealer has a 20% discount for October, so I got an Outrider.
Here's compared to the Centurion, which is also getting black scales next month.

The Outrider will be my woods / hiking SAK. The Centurion is so light and compact that it's great for around the house and city stuff.

The saw of the Outrider is a bit off to one side, it's how its ground, but I tested it on a rose bush that I had to remove and it works properly, so that's only cosmetic.

Next is the Farmer X, then I will be all over the Rangergrips.

Actually the red one is now sold as the Adventurer but years ago it was available only in black and was the Centurion. So it's an Adventurer who will become a Centurion :D

I left my Climber with my kid as a friendly option at the workplace. We have a Huntsman in each vehicle because it's just such a versatile grab and go tool. I want to try a Farmer X but they're expensive for something with less tools than a Huntsman or Climber and I'm not as enamored with the inline awl as other are. I've gotten a lot of good use out of the awls on the bottom of cellidor handled models, so I don't know what model I'm going to buy to replace my Climber with yet. Probably just another Climber, maybe in blue this time.
I found a Mountaineer one time and used it a little before giving it away. I wish that they would combine the saw with the file on a model.

The Ranger has scissors, saw and a file.

I like that model, but it's just too thick. The Huntsman is my limit for pocket carry and if I'm going with a belt sheath I'll carry a Leatherman instead.

Putting some sort of coarse file on the side of the saw would be neat, from the Camper/Hiker up to the larger models. I do realize it would be a challenge production wise and sooooo many people would cut themselves trying to use it.

I sold both 111 mm ones and gave a Hiker away, now I'm waiting for a Ranger Wood 55 to arrive, along with a leather sheath. I should have gotten it from the beginning :D
Until it arrives I'm left with 3 Pioneers, I hope to get it Saturday morning.

This is the most beautiful and awesome pocket knife I have ever seen! It is built wonderful and locks even tighter than the 110  It has absolutely no blade play. The handle is super nice, comfortable, the blade seems to be ground thinner than the 111 mm ones. I fell in love with that knife the moment I opened the package. It is big and feels like a real knife with some tools added to it. Next one is the one handed Rangergrip 78 for rougher use, this one deserves aged whiskey and selected appetizers :D
The sheath is also nice and the price was so good.
I still like 111 mm ones, might get an Outrider again at some point, but have zero regret of selling them. This one is just next level.

Loving it! Now I want the same one with plastic scales, so I can use it with dirty hands :D and the one handed 78 and the one handed without saw for city EDC. Damn what a fine knife the 130 mm Ranger is!

Turned out that the scales are bone dry, not a drop of oil in them and they warped after washing

I'm filing a warranty claim and will return it, I guess I'll just have to use a plastic handled Rangergrip.

That really sucks man. They usually are great about customer service so hopefully they'll take care of you.

Can somebody tell me what I used to have and if I could get another. I was given a knife almost identical to the one below, it was purchased in Switzerland about 1995 or so, the two differences I could see were a slot cut in the Phillip's screwdriver tip so it worked like a sardine can opener and the main reason I want another, the steel was great, held an edge way beyond any other SAK I have had. I have bought a few that look right but never found the can opener slot or a steel that lasted the same.

Tinker. And the "can-key" Phillips was used up to the mid 90s.

I talked with the dealer I got it from, got top notch service and they are sending me the one handed Rangergrip 78 + the price difference and I will return that one. The scales got a little better after more than a day of drying, but the next time they're wet the same thing will happen. I could treat them with oil, but for the price of that knife (pretty much 1/2 of a 6HM) it should be perfect from the factory.

@Jtallen83 that's very interesting you're saying about the old SAK, holding the edge better, could they have hardened them to a higher Rockwell back then?

That could be, I had assumed a different steel but then there weren't as many options then, for sure a noticeable difference in edge retention though.

Not as beautiful, but the more practical choice. Might get the plastic handled two hander soon or another Outrider :D
