Anyone know if an RB3 will fit in a JG3 stock leather sheath? Thanks!

I've never had them and I could be wrong but I think they're the same sheath? They're both 3" and about the same size so I don't see why it wouldn't.

Yeah, I wondered that, but I thought somewhere (maybe KnifeCenter?) I saw measurements that showed them to be different dimensions...just checked - KnifeCenter says the RB3 sheath is 9.5 inches long, the JG3 sheath is 8.25 inches long....so while the RB3 may sit a bit shallower in the JG3 sheath, I'm wondering if it'll fit in terms of other dimensions...I've got a line on a JG3 sheath with the old Camp Lore logo (to go with my Camp Lore logo RB3) which is why I'm asking. I may just grab it, what's an extra sheath, got plenty of other knives that'll probably fit!

Id worry about the thickness of the RB3 compared to the JG3. Id have to locate all my old sheaths to see for ya. May take me a bit but ill get to it.

Thinking the thickness would be an issue. The JG3 is pretty thin, the RB3 not so much. The only luck I’ve had with a sheath swap was the 3hm fits very well into the stock PR4 sheath.

I don’t have an RB3, so this is speculative, but I don’t see why handle thickness would be an issue. The one consistently valid complaint of the JG3 is the poor sheath retention. The scales are flat and there’s no guard or anything for the sheath to grab onto. If the sheath were a deeper fit it would work better, but as it is there’s plenty of flex to fit a wider-handled knife in there. I think the RB3 finger guard might be the only thing that might pose a problem, but you may be able to wet form around that.

Here’s a pic of a 3HM in a JG3 sheath. The handle fits fine, but the blade is too tall and digs into the welt. RB3 is a shorter height I believe, but the 3HM doesn’t have a finger guard.

Not sure if this is helpful or not. Maybe just more confusing haha. FBC372A7-3E1E-4F38-B819-0C6443FA1EEB.jpeg
