Such a ripoff for the prices today. Even dish is out there. We barely watch TV, and if we do it's to rent movies. We have Hulu and Netflix already that my wife watches on her computer. Moving into the new house in 3 weeks and we're not planning on going back to cable/dish service. Our friend has recommended Roku. I need to do more research to make sure this does what we need. The only "TV shows" we need are Disney Channel type stuff for the kids. I get my news from Facebook meme's and here, so that's covered. Any recommendations? Someone else also mentioned Apple TV, but I don't know if that'll do everything Roku does.
Currently have roku, have Netflix, Hulu and sling for everything we want to watch and antenna for all local channels. No cable for us except Internet.
Get an HDTV antenna and Google Chromecast. You can stream Netflix from your smartphone to a non-internet TV and it works great. I am a proud cord cutter!!
I love Chromecast. Lots of apps to stream anything from your phone or computer. Had roku but returned it, I thought it took too much work to setup.
Yeah we were getting boned so we finally called and dropped. Amazingly they would always give us a great deal and we end up paying more 3 months later.
Got an Amazon Fire box 2 years ago, great for everything I watch plus Amazon Prime TV and Netflix. All I need.
So how does all of this work? I see the jailbroke deals on Craigslist and elsewhere. Do you really get all of the channels and free/stolen PPV?
I like that I can get my local fox sports with it that carries my baseball & hockey teams. That's what was keeping me on satellite.
