I sent it to Allen to get a new kydex sheath made (the original doesn't fit that well since I removed some material from it), and he'll put it through its paces, too if he has the time. After that, it will go to Ben, then you, and finally DJ.

Well, i want to do this as a favor. So if it would help, absolutely i will be happy to throw up a video.
If i have a few too many helpful critiques then i probably wouldnt do the video.

But looking at it and knowing who made it... haha yeah i reckon if @Paycheck wants ill be doing a vid.

But it all depends on what he wants, because like i said, i want to do it as a favor, to help him and our community

I think a video would be helpful. Even with the critiques, I think it will be useful to highlight the shortcomings and areas of improvement, if for no other reason, just to bring to light potential compromises in design.
Even though it was made by Todd, and he made an exceptional job in producing this knife, it was altered quite a bit by me, so any critiques of the design and final product condition would be my responsibility. Todd did an amazing job making the knife, and Allen made a really nice sheath for it.

Installed a new set of scales and rounded them out (not the most professional job, but did my best, I suppose). Wanted something lighter, but fuller and with a bit more purchase. Handles much more comfortably, IMO. Pretty much what I wanted to accomplish as far as balance and speed.

I try to keep quiet but this prototype is like waiting on Christmas. Glad I haven't purchased a Junglas or a good machete yet. I'll wait.

Update: I wasn't too happy with the distance between ricasso and cutting edge, I am more of a "choke up on it" type of guy, especially on big knives. I know many folks hate choils, but it feels a lot more up to task now.

What makes the choil particularly comfortable is Todd's style of slanted grind. This way, when I choke up on it, my palm is still on the handle rather than spine.

Thank you. It's been slow, but it feels better and better with every mod.

No, the big shots decided it's too complicated to produce efficiently. I've been enjoying it myself for a few years now. If anyone wants to take on the project, I'll gladly share it. I can see their point, though. Some aspects of it, like full flat grind and distal taper may not be necessary. However, I love working with it.

Yeah, I've always been a tinkerer, putting my touch on everything to fit me better. Todd delivered a beast of a knife. As time's gone on, I started sculpting it into something more wieldy for my frame. Was gonna name it The 13th Warrior cause that's how it felt when I was making it lighter lol

I'd love to give it a go on making one myself, thougt it would be stock removal and not forging.
Would you be willing to share a picture taken directly from the side, maybe with a ruler in the picture, so I have something to sketch from? :)
