The RAT FAQ states the following (emphasis added): "Advanced Bushcraft and Intro To Survival can be completed by anyone since there is little physical exertion." I cannot find any listing describing the ITS Class. Is still being taught? If so, the 2022 schedule? What's the main difference between it and AB class? Thanks,
We have slowed down on some classes due to being overwhelmed with search and rescue calls and training. With that said, we will get more on the calendar soon.
I will add to what Jeff said.... the course descriptions on both are pretty detailed...the Intro class is just that...an Intro class that covers a few topics..none of which are in too much depth. The Advanced Bushcraft will get ALL the info on the ITS class and THEN SOME. The AB class has a higher focus on knife skill acquisition and being.......well, .....bushcrafty. Both are very easy classes that are largely spent outside in a relaxed manner. The AB class is 3 days long and you get a Class knife at the end
I see Shane didn't mention that we make everyone run a half-marathon before the beginning of each of these classes. It's just 13.1 miles so it's really not a big deal.
There is no description for the Intro class. It's mentioned in the FAQ and that's it. My interest in either is the lack of runnin' and gunnin' requirements. My days of 1.5 mile runs etc is over.
