Picked a worn-out lawn edger blade out of the trash at work. sharpened, handled, and tested it out. Not my first choice, but always good to use the gray matter and see what ya could improvise, if you HAD to do it!
Thanks A fun experiment for sure. Got the idea from those improvised tin-can lid knives Mr. Jabes Gibson [KNOB CREEK FORGE] showed in AMERICAN FRONTIERSMAN magazine a year or so ago. Kind of a modern take on the Hoko Knife artifact.
It's got a hole where the arbor goes through the blade. I suppose someone could engineer a way to attach it to a handle to form an adze.
Yeah, it's pretty light. It's just a field expedient, improvised axe. More of a big Hoko knife than an axe really.
