I know I’m in the minority, but my favorite neck knife is the ESEE-Becker/Kabar collaboration the BK14 aka the EsKabar. I thought the origin story was pretty cool and years ago I made a video to document it: Ethan Becker of Becker knives is a classically trained gourmet cook and for years was in charge of this grandmothers famous cookbook- The Joy of Cooking. Now it’s John Becker and his wife and they’ve updated the cook with new international dishes and more choices based on diets and new cooking appliances, like air fryers. The book has tons of recipes and is heavily organized by occasions and protein choices. i cooked an old dish- Chicken Hobo Packs cooked in foil. It’s really easy, just a few ingredients highly recommend the cookbook.
I grew up with that book (Joy Of Cooking 1st edition) on the kitchen shelf when I was a wee lad in the '70s never did I ever expect that years later in my 20's , I'd start collecting / using knives designed by the author .
Its really neat! I think that’s why Ethan is such a great knife designer, he uses them extensively in the woods and kitchen
I love my BK14. I have glow scales on mine and a clear kydex sheath that I will sometimes neck carry but it’s just a tad too big and I usually reach for my Izula…So I didn’t want it to feel left out so I paired it with an ESEE 6 for a complete woods setup that rides baldric-style…
