Two of the finest bushcraft knives made on Earth today. My full review of both will be posted no later than December, 2017. Oh, wait. It could be 2018. My model for release is ESEE, Inc. Speaking of ESEE, any word on when their sword is going to be at dealers in Scotland? Like winter, England is coming. (Vague reference to Game of Thrones & UK history.) Prelude: what roles do these knives play in my kit? The Mora is my EDC. Food prep, dinner, breakfast, open packages, chop weeds and firewood. The RB3 comes out when I've got really serious woodwork to be done. It bites deep and gets it done. In this image, both are laying on a 180 Flame (180tac.com), which is sitting on shale loaded with birch bark & 1/3 of a cotton ball. A ferrocerium rod is nearby ... .. .
Managed to harvest some dry cedar, tomorrow is friction fire day. . Even though I'm willingly disavowed from using the Mora for a month. I will post that result for good or ill. Y'all wish me luck!
I've had them both, still got the Mora black. I loved the RB3 but I really needed money at the time. It was sold and I never was wanting when the money recovered. The RB3 is a great knife. I just am not a huge Scandi fan.
I never really considered the RB3 until I met someone who had one, and I have to say I was really impressed, the handle seemed very comfortable based on the short fondling time I was allowed at the time. If only they gave another sheath option other than leather. Junglas 2 is the next on my wish list, I was going to get a 6HM but then I figured there was nothing that it could do that my standard 6 couldn't, and then the Junglas 2 was anounced.... LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!
I think brother Stone fell into a scotch bottle and forgot about us. Whose up for a trip to Maine for an...intervention?
Maine? Interview? I'm in! Where do I sign up?! Just got busy with video production. Coming soon to selected theaters . ..
Luck! Where's your report? You got fire from that cedar (reportedly dry) or not? If not, and you're soaked by Harvey, I ain't comin' down there to drag your sorry ass up here. But if you can get up here, I can guarantee a dry, cool place to sleep with some good pork and scotch.
Busy busy here, had a few minutes to work on a new spindle and got a longer bow cut. With a ferro I could build a fire in no time, it's the challenge of getting this to work.
