I have 3 comments to make: 1) I really want a chainsaw. 2) Chainsaws scare the crap out of me. 3) I have absolutely no need for a chainsaw.
I love this, makes me happier than you can image to see folks still raising their kids to work with power tool safely at a younger age! That's how my Dad and his friends taught me when I was growing up.
Hey put some ear protection on that lad! Eye protection and gloves not enough! He should also carry a CAT T (tourniquet) and an izzy bandage on him, and a Fox 40. chainsaws are deadly.........and instantaneously deadly . take it from a guy thats seen some **** on the cutblocks.... Great thread. Put a new bar on my old 120cc stihl. Got this in a pawnshop for $400 years ago. its a f******* scary saw. the amount of torque and the lack of a chain brake make things interesting. This saw is due for a tear down and resto, but i gotta save up for that. It will be getting a Cannon Racing Bar when i do restore it.
Copy that. Looking to get him some decent leg protection as well. Right now he is just learning proper technique under close supervision. Obviously the danger is still there. He is also learning how to maneuver a bucket on a tractor, drive, sing, dance, drum, and write a check. It is rough raising a 10 year old. I am starting to think I should just buy him some video games to reduce my stress level and trim all of the trees so he can't climb.
