you can polish micarta - the stock micarta has a 120 grit "finish" - sand it up to 400 grit and it won't pick up much crap any more.
Has anyone polished their esee handles yet? Interested in how it would come out My personal preference is g10. Hopefully @The Knife Connection will come out with some for the hm series soon
G10 is a good choice for this reason. However, you can seal unpolished micarta similar to leather to prevent this. Once sealed, wiping it down is easy and effective. A small bottle of clear nail polish is enough to seal a few knife handles.
Micarta over g10. I'll take grip over clean and pretty any day. Personally I think the canvas micarta Esee offers is second to none as far as performance is concerned. #micartagripsmatter
Function over fashion. I need a good grip not a flashy finish. I really think most guys are too obsessive about over cleaning their knives. A little Shmoo won't end the world.
Sorry just not big on germs,blood-borne pathogens,etc,etc.. I've sanded down and polished up the handle on my Enzo camper,I'd rather buy G10 and avoid the trouble of doing so..
Copper would be cheaper and work as well. On my Esee 4 I decided to make some wood handles, maybe in a few days I can post a pic. I guess I could just buy the cheapest esee6 I can find and throw away the handles and make some wood ones.
