So I just ordered a cleaver from Midway, and after the fact learned that it doesn't come with a sheath, for some reason. Any thoughts on where I might be able to track one down? I'd be fine with the stock leather option, but if those aren't available, I'll contact Alan Morrison, or....?
Might want to wait until the cleaver arrives, just in case it says "no sheath" because midway considers the black leather as a "blade cover" instead. Alan makes amazing kydex for the cleaver though, so down the road that is definitely my suggestion. He made me one with a dangler as well as a scout carry option.
The sheath is in every box. If there isn't one in there, Midway has opened it all up and taken it out for some reason. They aren't shipped without sheaths. Let me know if it really doesn't have one in there.
Yeah, I was wondering that as well. I can't see why they would be selling an ESEE/Expat knife without the sheath that comes standard. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the CS person who responded doesn't actually have any idea, and is just going off the item description, which could also easily be wrong. Will find out in a few days...
I would call Mike Perrin at least once a day about it until it arrives. He'll be glad to get the updates....
poor Mike Perrin......always in the shadows of Fred........ i know i know i'm going to heck for that one......
As suspected, the item description and the CS person @ Midway I spoke with were wrong. Cleaver arrived today with sheath and full compliment of Expat schwaggage.
@Hammer Did the cleaver come with a small bag that had the Idaho-shaped piece that was cut from the blade?
