    I decided to get the ratmandu when busse was discontinuing several models. The reviews on the knife were good. I received the knife, fit and finish were outstanding but the factory edge was abysmal. Handle ergonomics were good but with the large choil it caused fatigue when using a standard grip, too much pressure needed to make a cut due to the obtuse edge geometry. Utilizing the choil the sharp part of the grip dug into my hand. I was still learning how to sharpen knives at this time. I got frustrated and put the knife away for a few years. I decided to make an effort and sharpen it with a thinner edge recently. Now with a thinner edge the performance is better. Tried some feather sticks, not too shabby. I am still learning this knife.
