I know get both, lol. But funds dont allow right now. Will be for general purpose, conceal carry and dickin' around.

The 3 might fill that role nicely.

I'd go with the 3. I've had a 4 for a while and love it but after getting the 3, i carry and use the 3 a lot more.

I'm leaning towards the 3 as it's lighter and the blade is only .62 shorter IIRC.

The biggest difference between the 3 and 4 isn't the blade length, it's the thickness. The difference between 1/8" and 3/16" at that length is very noticeable.

The 3 is my personal favorite out of the two.

When in hand, or when in use, the difference between the thickness is rather apparent. The 4 is a beefy blade, the 3 is a great slicer.

The 3 is my go to blade, don't get me wrong I like my 4 but always grab the 3.

Nice comparison pic, thanks. Hard not to choose the larger thick blade, but lighter and concealable is important.

What you need to do is wait for the PR4, it has the length of the 4 and the width of the 3.

Larger thick blades are overrated. Unless you're batoning or chopping. 1/8" is plenty for general purpose blades. And cuts better as well. But if you're doing either of those tasks, you owe it to yourself to not get either of these. Go 5 or 6.

IMO it depends on body size and hand size. I personally have large to XL sized hands and the 4 is a much better fit for me. The wifey with tiny hands personally prefers the 3 or Izula 2 for hand size. So I would consider hand size as a big factor in your decision.

3 or 4 is a tough one. Been thru it. So same. So not. Got a 3 a few years back and I took to it right away. Light, agile, a do-about-anything EDC/field knife once I slapped on LMF m9carts to fill my largish hands. Then in a weak ESEE moment about 2 years ago I picked up the 2oz heavier, 2/3" longer, 1/16" thicker 4.

Hmm. Kinda clunky, nose heavy, unbalanced and bulky compared to its kissing' cousin. Too much knife for next to no gain. Went back and forth to it but mostly it laid around. Then I screwed LMFs on the 4. OMG. Forward heft came solidly in-hand and the thing became a beast. No longer heavy, slightly-longer blade an easier 'cut', extra thickness suddenly nothing but a good thing, I started carrying it everywhere - mostly in the molle but often AIWB/kydex.

Long story shortened, haven't looked back. My Izzy 2 gets some use, the 3 sits in the trunk of my wife car but she never bothers with it with an Izzy in her purse. Bottom line for me: the 3 can be all the knife you need but a 4 - with almost no penalty - was and is my way to go long as you gotta an izzy or two lyin' around.
