This is my new Imacasa “Pata de Cuche” machete. Delivered to me by our own @FortyTwoBlades at Baronyx knives.
Everything I’ve gotten from Ben has exceeded my expectations and this one did too. Perfectly straight and edge tuned true.
I first reshaped the handle to custom fit my hand. Then it got stripped, washed, wet sanded, and alcohol cleaned.
Then into a hot vinegar bath that ended up being overnight. Then another wash with abrasive cleaner and passes over a medium, fine, extra fine belts until it will push shave like the best fish n game knife.


I love the dull smooth gray you get with a fresh carbon steel finish.
Let’s see what kind of “lost on the forest floor “ pattern a few months creates.
