It is a cool area. I found it a few years ago turkey hunting. We have always stopped at the first stream you get to on the trail. The kids are old enough now so we decided to cross it and found this area. We are going to earlier in the day next time and go further down the trail to see what else is hidden back there.
I Couldn't do feather sticks well until I could sharpen well. Couldn't sharpen well until I learned how to strop. Didnt really know how to strop until I started making my own strops. This little knife continues to wow me at every point of my evolution.
So we gave our 11 yr. old grandaughter a green Izula and a ferro rod for her birthday. The knife will last her a lifetime and she'll think of us when she uses it. I'm not sure what drew me into this thread but I'm glad I read it. There are some great examples of craftsmanship. The best knife is the one you have on you, right?
Here's mine, I convexed the edge and I extended my scales forward with some macassar ebony and made a couple sheaths for it. One is a cordovan dangler with kangaroo lace and the other is kangaroo over kydex. Think this is my first post, sorry it took so long!
I decided to try my hand at etching with salt water and a 9v battery. It definitely added some depth to the skull, can’t tell on the rest of it. I didn’t etch the candiru part so I’m comparing it to that.
I agree. I’m still hoping for an izula size wharncliffe in s35vn. I’ve considered getting an imlay and modifying the tip to make it a wharny but it would still have a slight curve on the edge towards the tip
Made some liners from the card that came with the esee fire steel. It definitely has a better fit now.
The bottom one is my EDC, the other I just recently picked up. I'd be all over an S35VN version, but I have absolutely no complaints with 1095. What are the chances that we see a venom green or orange 1095 option?
