Added some standard G10 scales to my other Izzy. I didn't like how they eliminated the big(ger) lanyard hole, so I used a 3/4" hole-saw to remedy that. I like how it turned out, and it still fits snugly in the Junglas setup I rigged together. I also got a matching set for my BK24 that I was going to do the same thing, but the hole is slightly smaller so I couldn't use the same size hole-saw. I started using my Dremel, and the damn scale shifted in the clamp and I screwed it all up Oh well, I'll probably just chop the end down and round them off - similar to the micarta scales. *EDIT* I went ahead and "fixed" the other set of scales for the BK24 that I screwed-up with the Dremel. They're not perfect (and I know this isn't an Izzy) but they actually feel really nice in the palm.
How many of ya'll have a stainless izzy and how well does it hold an edge? After carrying my plain black izzy as a neck knife I got tired of constantly fighting rust on the edge and logos. Contemplating a stainless model as a neck knife now that my plain izzy is piggy backed to my junglas.
The stainless will hold its sharpness longer than the standard 1095 one will. Trade off is, it will take more strokes to get it back to sharp though!
I was in the same boat as you keeping my Izzy rust free. Finally ordered a stainless one last week, on sale for $50 w/ clip: http://www.knifeworks.com/eseestainlessizulaneckknifepurpleconcealedcarryknife.aspx
