That is a massive skillet. Reminds me of this bread loaf pan we bought. Great for cranking out an insane number of mini loaves (especially banana bread), but barely fits in the oven and is a pain to wash. But, when you're making treats for the entire medical clinic, it's a damn fast way to get it done.
I got it in my head I was going to make Herself a homemade pizza for Valentines Day…. It looks like a mad scientist experiment! Chicken, Bacon, Pineapple, Onions, Peppers, Canadian Bacon, Garlic! All on a chewy artisan crust… You can even pick it up and eat it like a real slice!
My girlfriend wasn’t feeling well for Valentine’s Day so I tried to make her a nice dinner tonight to make up for it This is a sake, mirin, miso, and honey glazed Chilean sea bass. I had no idea it was so expensive!
Oh, So after a nice week of Spring! In which I had to Mow!! It decides to drop into the 30’s F and be winter again! Hmmmm. Gumbo. A LOT of Gumbo. ..and gumbo needs about a full CUP of freshly chopped Garlic yes? ..and 4 cups of OKRA righhhhtt?! Well, I’d say that looks like near perfect timing. Wouldn’t you?
French Onion Soup by Kylemeister posted Feb 18, 2024 at 1:35 PM French onion soup. The girlfriend found the ceramic crocks on sale at the outlet mall, and so what's a guy to do? A 2 pound bag of sweet onions made enough for two servings. Used around 3 cups of beef broth, a nice hunk of Gruyere cheese, and turned some homemade sourdough into croutons.
Ohhh Yummy. (I love French Onion!) I haven’t seen any of the thin wall enamel coated saucepans in a long time…good ones like granna had in her kitchen an age or two ago.
I've only seen the ceramic crocks for French onion soup. These don't really have a lip like many of the classic ones. But the classic ceramic ones are just extortion on Amazon, and I don't want to buy a case of them from webstaurantstore.com, so I'll take these from the outlet mall. The handle actually was nice once they cooled off enough to not remove fingerprints
You can thank Kent Rollins for this. A far out on the edge attempt at Cowboy Casserole. Even if it’s something simple, it should still be delicious to eat. ..and of course it’s going to take over the ENTIRE kitchen! Quality control will be monitoring this process. In my kitchen everything needs…a little garlic. Well it looks promising. The bread selection..not so much. ( It was actually buttery and flaky, tasty, just slightly lacking in the beauty department. )

Herself the Goddess requested “Something restorative”. Enter the Signature Chicken Noodle Pho… Quick as a scurrying little mouse…who cooks..and has a bunch of recipes stored between his cute fuzzy ears.
I’m convinced this forum and the Becker Knives enthusiasts has produced more chefs in the world than any culinary school
I was going to go work on the country property today but we’re getting monsoon rains that go on for hours or even days. Eggs Rancheros in carbon steel as a consolation will make me feel better.
