You mentioned some writing. Here is a poem I wrote a few years ago based on a life event.

    SYNTHETIC HERO

    Beyond the dogmatic gardens
    Across the cherub guarded seas
Beneath the shadow of the mountain
A secret was revealed to me

    I WATCH…

The megalomaniac rides the rusty, iron horse
Infantile instincts adulate the lifeless star
    Determining the impending force

    I WAIT…

The putrid stench of reverence misplaced…
    The eager, incestuous brotherhood
    With reality unlaced
    Defiled expressions on each face

Manufactured expectations from a residually angered youth
Inability to overcome the defiance yet became so uncouth
    Leading to abominations of truth

    I LEARN…

A gallant fallacy espoused by those one should believe
    Demanding subservience and bending knees
    A shallow conscience to appease

    THE REVELATION…

Translucent, breathing matter with a hideous yellow aura
    Pulse quickens………………….Trigger squeezes slowly
    Nicotine placates Adrenalin…Celebration erupts
    As the surly empire falls

    Upon crimson asphalt…

Vacant eyes meet a lurid soul!

That's pretty good stuff right there. Poe-like. Which seems to fit.

I love that signature! I'm trying to figure out if that's an axe buried in Mr. Voorhees head!

I certainly presumed as much. Have you seen his son with all the cutlery pics. Naturally I assume that is his big brother reading the comic strips.

Thanks gentlemen. I believe the image is Richard Brooker from part III. Only have one kid and he is addicted to video games, never goes outdoors, and hates snakes/knives/guns/zombies/First Blood/Commando/DOTD and of course, Jeff.

The poem is very good DJ
I've written a few songs and a bunch of scribble through the years I sorta piece it together vs by vs I lean towards a darker flair perhaps I'll be brave and drop something in sometime.

I have written a few poems but on notebook paper over the years. One of these days I am going to dig them out.

Poems are an excellent way to express the darkness that you are talking about.

As it will probably come up elsewhere I'll share a piece of a song that I'm soon going to get inked on the tat will be in Latin.

As I stand in the shadows my soul passes by.
Consumed by the darkness still unable to die.

I'm sure there should punctuation but I suck at it so I don't bother

Good intro but your third line doesn't fit well with the rest of the song.

    Ha!^

    DJ made a funny!

Post whatever you want, @Frankenstein You're in the trust tree here.

The fact of the matter is most people have written stuff at one time or another. For reasons that escape me, it does appear to be cathartic for most people. That's not to say the outlet is always song or poetry, sometimes its a short story, novel or some essay or historical piece. But, somehow most people have a desire to write something.

I enjoy reading stuff like this as well as short stories that you can sense were difficult times for the author.

I wrote a song sometime back to my closest friend I named it For Tammy but the basis of the verse is more "the end of me" I'm not big on sharing in certain areas but perhaps I'll shoot it to you privately someday and you can punctuate it for me :)
Music itself has gotten me through many dark times I have some music without words still just playing provides an internal comfort

I'll have to try the poem in the OP another day. Too far past my mental processing for this heavy work day for now.

    ("Gar·çon, more gin!")

And I always have had trouble with poetry. I'm more a prose guy myself. Essays 'n stuff.
