I’m loving my Junglas, looking now at the Libertariat. What is the selling points for this big blade?

Edited to add: the one I’m looking at is USA made and says first production run. I’ve heard that it can be used as a drawknife? Does anybody have a picture of one setup for that? I’m just looking for an excuse to buy this lol

I've got the Libertariat, I used it some for limbs and saplings, but I thought the handle was a little small.
Now I like the Darien a lot more. It does real good on vines, limbs and saplings. Plus the handle is bigger and comfortable.

    I had a Libertariat - had.
    I still have a Junglas.

to use it as a drawknife, just grip it by the handle and the other end - use a finger in the hole for traction and indexing, or stick a carabiner in the hole and hold onto that.

I have a Libertariat, but I haven't used it. I keep going back to my Condor machete instead

I’ve got one as well. Hangs in my workroom as a bone breaker for the most part. I also think the handle is a bit small. You can wrap it and make it nice or go ugly with hockey tape to fix that. It’s good steel, takes a nice edge. For my part I’d like to have the primary grind dropped back to a more “saber” type. Make it a lot more slicey. :)

I have one of the first first run libertariats. It has now been relegated to the garden, vineyard, and orchard for use by the wife.

I have used it as a draw knife a couple times on small projects by putting a green stick through the hole. Mainly to shave off a knot or rough section of a pole.
