For the record it's not me connecting, I connect 2 pieces of metal with a welding rod. My buddies in the pics connect them with bolts and they're nuts.

A stream nearby. I was rock hopping across the stream trying to cast into the current near the opposite bank and happened to look down.

I went fishing with the boys this morning. Sunfish and largemouth bass. Non stop hits all morning. Now it's cartoons and ice cream in sugar cones! Followed by beer for dad. What a day!

slept in, burned out by work. Had planned to do a million things this long weekend but long term work fatigue said NO. So i spent the day puttering around the house, changed the two big panther cats litter, took out trash and recycling, and cranked Tiesto and others (2) (3) (3 - metal remix) loud on the computer speakers.

Panther #1 (MissCopper) was absolutely delighted by all the goings on while i was reorganizing my load bearing rig, Her big paws constantly were playing with the webbing and batting around the contents. Panther 2 (Pip) was content to sprawl and sleep.

still not sure if i'll head out for an overnighter tomorrow, really want to head up the new campsite i found in Lytton, but ......Canada Day long weekend traffic is BRUTAL.........i'm honestly thinking staying local , maybe going tubing on a nice cool river....

Home for the next 4 nights. We are in Duluth MN for the holiday. We are staying at a KOA in outside town. I know it's not camping but it's cheaper then a hotel and easier then a tent with a 4 year old that's curious about everything. [IMG]

I bought three bundles of firewood from the camp store. They delivered it with three nice thick sheets of birchbark. I only used a piece 4"x4" because it was already attached to a piece of wood. My Esee 6 lost a lost more coating batoning tonight. One UCO storm match later and I had fire. Serious, these matches are the bomb.

And we've burned almost all of it already. I guess I did start the fire at 1530.

. My wife and I were talking about that. We would like something at least twice this size. Either overall footprint or add a loft. It needs a wood stove and a layer of insulation and it would be a four season cabin.
