How about just a couple of pictures and a description of were you were today. Fishing hunting, about town. Whatever. I will start it out with pictures from a couple of days ago, lol.
The horse farm a couple of roads over. The old farm trail. Used to get around the perimeter. To get from one field to another. And to get wood.

Early afternoon dog walk. My son is the 5th generation to walk this property. These stone walls are well over a hundred years old... and looking pretty good to me on this warm Feb day.

In town. Had business downtown today (about a mile; walked both ways.)

Here are a few photos of dirty, melting snow along the backroads, and one of the beautiful river.

I picked up 10' of 1/4" nylon rope at the hardware. Going to make some traditional bindings for the loaner snowshoes tomorrow, and get out in the real woods on them -- hopefully before all the snow melts Sunday in heavy rain.

My name is Stone, which is no accident. Given name of a guy who wants to be a geologist when he grows up (never). Love rock walls. Those rocks tell stories of travels in glaciers from the northlands over the last few million years.

    ^Hahahaha ... yeah, I understand.

As I've gotten older, I've fallen more and more into the quasi-minimalist, "do I really need to carry this?" crowd.

And that pic does not include the hard gun case. Thus far I am 50gms under my baggage allowance for the flights. That is assuming they don't weight my carry on ...LOL

Hanging out making smores with the children. The end of a small oak fire. Used Red eyed hog B-fat on cotton balls to light it they burn well. Smells like you smoked a pig after.
