The remains of my enemies. I drink from their skulls so it's fitting my knives sit in their flesh before and after they expire.

    Get both.
Seriously, I like Kydex for the smaller knives (Candiru and Izula) and leather for the bigger knives (3s & 4s).
Having said that, I have a couple pocket sheaths for my Izulas and they are leather as they conform to the body / pants pocket shape better than polymers.

I like both but kydex and leather but you guys are going **** yourselves here shortly when I start with the hybrids. Classic leather look with kydex retention.

I have an R. Lo hybrid for my EDC and had one for my Damascus Izula. Love the hybrids it's just hard to find someone that does it properly.

@Allen Morrison. Take a look at Dan Winkler's sheaths. Some of the best done hybrids I have ever carried.

I will tonight. He uses REALLY thin leather and for that I don't like it. Makes the sheath feel cheap to me.

I agree with @Reno Lewis. A nice leather sheath made to fit a specific knife will have a snug fit and can be made for $20 or $30 if you have patience

We will probably always have all three materials used in our sheaths for various reasons. But the injection molded polyethylene is absolutely the most durable and most dependable material we use in our opinion. The only thing that affects it over time is wear. But wear affects all materials over time.
Aesthetically I don't think anything is better than a nice molded leather sheath. It looks and feels good.))

I voted leather. Not for practical reasons but because I like it and it is quite serviceable for my sheath needs.

I have the ESEE 5 and Kydex makes a wonderful sheath for the big knife. I plan on the EESE 3 in the future and would like leather for the smaller knife. Why not an option for both?

I voted leather because it is the "nicer" option. I can have kydex made or purchase myself after for my deep woods/swamp runs. On a knife like the Izula/izula2 pocket/small edc fixed concealed blade, the little round cornered plastic sheath works quite nicely.
