The #eseecrew spent some time in the RAT Hole (prototype shop) knocking out some warranty signs for our dealers. What you are looking at are YEARS worth of warranty blades collected by Mike Perrin (Co owner). All replaced thru our lifetime warranty. What’s do you think is our most common warranty claim? Thoughts on the pics? You can check out one of our signs at Blade Show Booth 744 as well as our full line of knives June 7-9 in Atlanta.
Arc you guys not concerned that people will see a bunch of broken blades and think.....they must not be very good knives.......??? The signs are pretty cool, amazing what people do to their knives...... Tip breakage the most common? Got any tip broken Junglas? Meybe make a Junglas IMLAY Heavy Rescue knife?
pics can't pick up some damage or other things....some appear just fine but then you look down the spine and they have a S bend in them...
Looks like a few recurve candidates in there too! edit: Kind of makes you wonder how many of these are people beating them through something stupid just to test the warranty. Like some of those youtube jackwagons that just beat on it til it breaks.
@shaneadams90 Heck if there was a way to clearly mark/ permanently permanently mark some of those tip break knives. You could almost gift some of the tip break or larger intact knifes to folks to fiddle with/ experiment/ make custom knives from. For example a mostly intact 4 could be remade into a 3 or slightly shorter blade. Or even pull scales off for the same purpose. Obviously they would have no warranty attached anymore I could see possible legal liability issues.... And I’m not sure it would be good $$$ sense to do it... You guys do run a business after all. But we could all dream
no doubt there are some modification candidates in there for sure....at minimum something fun to play and experiment with for sure....many appear to be in working order but are much worse than they appear on camera....some have significant S bends in them or other issues.... Then there is this:
You know, that just means real people are using them. Of course.. sometimes real people do stupid things..
Not at all....one look at these knives and you can tell they've been abused or used well outside of their intended purpose....MOST people look and them and say something along the lines of "Holy $4it I can't believe you replaced that....!!" I could get behind this!!
