TKC Extended Handles for Izula

I just got an email from TKC with a pretty exciting update for Izula lovers!

Dale will soon be offering extended handles (G10) for Izulas. Easily turn your Izula into an Izula II, much like the extended DIY Candy-roo scales that I've seen out there.

I think it's an awesome idea! Way to go Dale and TKC for thinking outside the box and making the li'l Izzy a bit more versatile!

Excerpt from the TKC Newsletter:

"We just received the prototype for our new Izula Extended handle. This will turn your Izula into an Izula II with a quick handle swap! If you want the short handle again later, no problem, just swap out or remove the handle. We should have these ready for purchase in just a few weeks."

I like that a lot. I've often thought about picking up a Izzy2 but one of the reasons I love my Izzy is how compact it is. This would give me the option of having a little more handle when I need or or quickly swapping out for a more compact carry option...gotta love tkc and dale... Every time I've called Dale with a question (hoping he has the answer on hand), despite my protests, he drops what he's doing and immediately gets me my answer. And then we end up just chatting about knives and such for another ten minutes like we were old friends. The guy knows how to run a darn good business and how to set himself apart from other companies

 

That makes me happy I know what I’m gonna hint hint for Father’s Day
The one question I am curious about is wether this will fit the Stainless Izula perfectly.. (Not sure if the stainless Izulas are 100% identical to a standard Izula..)

 

It's a fantastic concept, especially for those that don't want to replace the Izula they already have just to get a longer handle.

 

Cool, the added length of the Izula II spoiled me.

Wonder if that would fit the Becker Eskebar too?

 

I’m more excited about a STainless Steel Izula 2. I use a SS Izula for fishing but have always wished it was a 2

Has it been a few weeks yet?

 

Meaning a SS Izula Plus the extended scales gives me a SS Izula 2.

 

Spoke to Dale @ TKC this morning. He said they are waiting on packaging for these to be completed but he hopes they will have a few options available on the website by the end of this week (4/20) or possibly next week.

As always, TKC was a pleasure to deal with and Dale is a badass!

Did he give you a idea on a possible price?

 

I forgot to ask - but I would plan on $30-$40 as a ballpark estimate, but hopefully less than that. Considering the price of an Izula, I would guess they should be at least 50% the cost of the knife.

I'm guessing they'll be inline with his other Izula handles, so probably around $40.
