Sun came out and it was nice and warm, so went on a short hike today. Went down by a creek and noticed a bit of honeycomb lying at the base of a hollow tree. looked pretty clean, though dry. Probably an old hive up in there. No bee activity. Good fire starter. Spotted a brush bunny that let me get so close I could've harvested it with a throwing stick or a slingshot. Found a deer jawbone again by the creek, probably washed out by recent rains. Did some carving practice with my BAHCO [MORA-made] Laplander fixed blade. On the way out saw a hawk that had harvested a bunny. A nice outing. - - WD - -
