So we got up to the Little Cabin In The Woods, pausing on the way to take photos of The Barrier and Freeman Lake and a cool wildflower that had wild honeybees nomming on pollen

    IMG_7590.JPG IMG_7631.JPG

got to the cabin and I was quite surprised how clean it was!

    IMG_7592.JPG

time to process firewood and kindling! I wanted to show @Se7eN how hot the little cabin can get, and how quickly! with nothing more than some cedar kindling and small splits.

@Se7eN beating the almighty hell out of his INFI steel, the weak baton failed quickly and was replaced by an 5" thick alder firewood round from my truck

    IMG_7591.JPG IMG_7598.JPG IMG_7599.JPG

getting er going with 2x4's from the truck

    IMG_7596.JPG

time for BACON and fried onions, before slapping some steaks on the grill!

but first, check in with Mama-7

    IMG_7594.JPG

I HATE teflon pans with a passion, but it was the only fry pan in the cabin....so i doused it with leftover whiskey from the cabin and wiped it clean. Time for onions and bacon!
    IMG_7604.JPG IMG_7605.JPG IMG_7607.JPG IMG_7615.JPG

Stabber......the MOST comfortable (in any fighting position grip) knife i have ever held.

    IMG_7593.JPG

@Se7eN has prep pics i think of the bacon and onions.......? I know that he will bebuying the ESEE CR2.5 soon after he used mine ;)

this has to be the best part yet.......the slapping of steaks onto the hot grill......we had burned off the 2x4's and added the year old bone dry alderwood round that have been in my 4x4 for a year

car drove past the cabin on the FSR.....stopped and just sat there, staring at us......(but only seeing me)

@Se7eN went around the back of the cabin and crept thru the blueberry bushes........and waited. The driver of the car, a hipster with a hipster beard and his passenger , female. just sat there looking. Driver had a pissed off look on his face.

Oh I'm sorry dude , did i mess up your night of wooing your girl in a dark smoke filled cabin? LOL! piss off

@Se7eN got closer to the vehicle and they suddenly saw him. BUSSE in hand....i nearly died laughing. The car took off spraying dirt as they left.

more form @Se7eN! soon! dudes probably right knackered fromdriving several hundred klicks to the south east interior of BC.

The cabin. It smelled of yellow cedar and felt like good times were had within its walls. A rare gem in the forest.

After processing firewood and hammering on my knife, the fire was lit. We was huuuuungry.

    THE ARMADA.

    So.

@Bushman5 talked me into using his CR 2.5 when I was cutting up our food. I declined, knowing if I did, i’d buy one.....he insisted.

    I obliged.

    ........

Most awesome utility knife I’ve ever used.

Earlier, As @Bushman5 said I was checking in with mama7, I was texting her this picture. “Send her a picture of the cabin!” Says bushy.

Two beautifully grilled rib eyes. We lathered them in bacon grease as they rested. Maximum caloric value.

I made the fastest detour of my life. Blazed through traffic, cut people off, drive over curbs, just for this knife.

@Bushman5 I still laugh out loud when I think of the conversation we had with those peasants. That was some funny sh*t.

See that? It’s ready to crush anything below it any second.

I think thats all i got for pics and report!

Was super awesome to meet my buddy after like 15 years of talking back and forth, mailing loot to each other, it was freaking hilarious how similar we are , both in our hiking styles, gear choices, and dark humor.

there will be more BushMERC's shenanigans - stay tuned.

You hit the nail on the head @Bushman5

You guys should have seen how we moved through the bush. We took turns leading, shadowed each other when we needed to, walked parallel when we needed to, stopped and listened at the same time, flanked potential threats and generally moved the same way, WITHOUT COMMUNICATION OR DIRECTION from each other.

It’s hard to describe. We moved as a unit. Our dark humour, mannerisms and general outlook on situations is incredibly similar.

It was so wicked to meet up with my bro in person after 15 years, literally 15 years of hackling, harassing and sending each other gear. We knew each other before this website was ever here. We owned ESEE knives and beat them to hell and back before ESEE knives had the cult like following they do today.

    This is only the beginning.

it was hilarious how we both picked up on the hikers (three Mandarin ladies) walking just below us, and how we went silent instantly, at the same time.........

I'm still laughing about that bear roar and their response........

I kinda wished the BushTrackers brakes had failed....I really wanted to do demonstrate how to rig an emergency drag brake with cables, chains and a big ass log, to allow a safe descent........it would have been epic video!
