The esee 4 mini bowie does most of the work that a knife is needed for. I thought I might have ruined the heat treat modding it but it's still holding an edge and takes a beating. 20221213_213446.jpg 20221213_213600.jpg

As of today. I guess the three BK14’s can count as ESEE too.

I wasn't sure where to put this.
    So adjust if necessary.

I went out yesterday for a quick Ruck,
But I was also hoping to showcase two of my latest ESEE tools.

    Then things went horribly wrong!

At about the two mile mark, I stumbled upon what I thought would be a good place to stop and have a fire.
A nice reflector rock, plenty of raw materials everywhere.

A quick gathering trio netted me enough to get a fire started,
    [IMG]

For as wet as it was things caught nicely.
There was a slight west wind pushing against the rock.

My new Bushcraft Buddy was helping by dragging away most of the wood I had broken down.

But even with his help I managed to keep the fire going
    [IMG]

Some short range scouting located some larger fuel for my fire,
    [IMG]

This was a cool spot because there was dead timber everywhere. I kept gathering more.
There were tom already dead trees right next to the fire and conveniently close together.
So I just snapped what I needed for smaller pieces.

This was all well and good, but it was defeating my purpose,
    [IMG]

It was a fine fire. But it was so easy, my new Librarian and ESEE 4 never left their sheaths,
    [IMG]

So I had to pull off a poser shot just to show them off.

Sometimes things just don't work put the way you expect. No chopping, no feather sticks,
no shavings, just old school fire craft in the company of some very cool tools.
