Absolutely love my Junglas. Honestly I prefer using it more than my bk9. But it's always best to have both in my own opinion. Kinda nice to have choices when you want some choices. I plan on getting the Junglas 2 next. Kinda want that 2" shorter version. Gonna build that into my go back survival knife. The Junglas will absolutely destroy anything. But it definitely demands your respect when using it. She's a beast of a blade. Highly recommend getting one.
Yeah your probably correct. I guess if they don't work I'll just throw em on my bk2 anyways. I have the original plastic on that with a ranger band for grip. Seems to do the trick.
I think I'm 1 of the few that's never had issues with grip on the bk knives. I have looked into some dark cherry stained wooden scales, they looked sooo good. I appreciate the comparison with jungles and bk's and I like choices also! I will get a junglas eventually I'm sure!
Thanks! I’m really liking the feel in hand. Looking forward to taking it out into the field to get a real sense.
I went with the linen micarta and it's pretty slick. Looks nice, but is slick lol. You can see the pics of mine back a little on how I grooved the handle for traction. A bit of cord and a wrist loop wouldn't be a terrible plan but since I edc mine sometimes the cord would bug me and be visible most likely lol
For all folks talk about 1095’s horrible problems with rusting. I last used this Junglas a month ago cutting swamp vegetation, left saps from God knows what all over the blade and wet it in swamp water that contains small amounts of saline. I didn’t rinse it and stuck it in its sheath, tossed it in my backpack and forgot about it until taking that pic. Zero rust from that neglect. I may have added some odd patina patterns from the different tree and vine saps, but no corrosion or pitting. I think well done 1095 if sorta treated like a cast iron skillet will hold off rust well if I form a good foundation patina/season it, clean it with mild soap under hottest water you can and oil or wax it while still hot it also seems to not rust
[/QUOTE] Glad I'm not the only 1 that thinks they look better the more they're used! Like a badge of honor, they are proof they did real work lol
ESEE plus others, family photo, minus a few that's in the truck. (condor bushlore, a couple moras and ?)
