Hey everyone! I'm embarking on a kitchen remodeling project and could use some insights from those who have been through it. I'm torn between classic and modern styles. What's your take on the timeless appeal of classic designs versus the sleek efficiency of modern kitchens? Also, any recommendations for durable yet stylish countertops and space-saving storage solutions would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, if you've tackled a kitchen remodel recently, please share any unexpected challenges you faced and how you overcame them. Looking forward to tapping into this community's wealth of experience!
I have somewhere near 30 kitchens under my belt but can't say what the difference between classic and modern would be, seems like styles come back around every 25 years or so to me, I always considered them salesman's words. Cabinets and appliance layout was the most common issue I saw. Looking and sounding good on paper doesn't always translate to the real world. Best advice mock up your layout best you can and play around in it. Countertops is different for different people. If you like to change colors don't spend a fortune on a stone, investigate the maintenance requirements if you do go with a stone. A homeowner poured concrete countertop was the most economical and stylish combo I have seen, for myself a standard formica countertop suits just fine..... but my sense "style" has been questioned. Spend the money to run the upper cabinets to the ceiling for extra storage, bonus of less dusting to do. I fitted several of my own cabinets with roll out racks, wish I had done it to every cabinet. There are lots of neat wire dividers, racks and hangars that let you use every inch of space but I have seen that overdone to the point they lost storage space to the storage devices. Every tile backsplash I put in got rave reviews BUT after several years they all say they wish they would not have used tile, some for the maintenance required and some because they just tired of the color.
....... you posted this up in the same form you have almost every other thread my dear AI Bot and chose to ignore the lifeline options thrown so in my best English (you are from the UK right....or is it Pakistan.... or NY....oh who knows...) Ta Ta For Now.
I do cabinets, and remodels specifically. I HATE modernizing a real old house! Hell ! I hate wood! I want a stone house with a hip roof , concrete floors, stainless industrial kitchen and steel tool cabinets for all my storage. To hell with wood anything!!
