:D found this poor little guy confused distressed no nest or parents anywhere in sight (observed from a distance for some time) and waddling falling over itself down the side of the gutter. It was in rough shape. Hungry dehydrated and had a small wound on its head. We nourished it quite well it ate a whole shrimp and good chunk of banana and drank lots of water. Heading to a rescue society for birds now to give it the best chance at rehab! 20220721_151419.jpg 20220721_151420.jpg

years ago one of my female pit bulls came back from the pond area refusing to open her mouth, wouldn’t even drink water. I finally succeeded in prying her jaws open and a yellow baby duck fell out. (Quack/peep!) ..alive and unharmed except for being covered in spit. Followed her around for years pretending to be a dog in a yard full of pits and black mouth cur hog hunters. (Turned out to be a mallard hen that joined a migrating flock one fall all on her own.)
