Extractor broke off my SR762, now I'm wondering what parts would be interchangeable. Anyone have any info on that? Love the gun, but it has some proprietary parts that has me wondering what will fit and what wouldn't. I asked Ruger, but haven't heard from them yet.

I would give a DPMS or Armalite pattern a try, If it doesn't fit I'll buy it from you, always need spares. I've interchanged them without issue, never got a bad one from Armalite but I have bought others that had crappy grip. I tried to get a bolt catch out of Ruger for the 762, would not sell me one, I had a Matrix Aerospace receiver set witch was the same thing, Matrix Aerospace made them for Ruger but didn't do the small parts, never did figure out who they used, ended up using a Sig 716 bolt catch, another that is claimed to be proprietary but is mostly DPMS pattern parts.

I'll give it a try, thank you. I was looking at this JP, they say it works in DPMS patters.

Ouch, they are really proud of that! Should work fine, JP is always quality, just stay away from the silent captured spring stuff unless it's a race gun.

It fits. So SR762 is compatible with DPMS style extractor. Gonna order another one just in case. Thanks for the help.

Right?! As much as I like their guns, I'm not buying another Ruger just for their terrible customer service and product support.

My Ruger boycott goes way back, when Bill Ruger said no man needs more than ten rounds I said no man needs a Ruger. This last decade or so they have made it tough to stick to, lots of great guns for a working mans budget but no Rugers for me.

I won’t buy anything Ruger again either. With one exception, maybe another 10/22 where every small part can be found made by a third party.
