indeed...this is a survival forum and being responsible with money is also a survival skill...probably the most overlooked one! my post above is the same as someone saying that's not a good idea when they see someone prying with an esee-3 all the time.

if i keep seeing post after post regarding lack of money then i see that as a public cry for help...sometimes gotta show tough love for them to see the light and a way to get them out of that difficult situation.

Thanks man. I'm thrilled. I'm looking forward to getting some work done that isn't by man power.

....... finally had a chance to pull this out of the box....!!

    Folded up....

    All unfurled.....

.... in that last pic you can see the MPPT controller (don't need this running it through the regulator in my truck), 4.5m cable, 10m cable and jumper clamps. In 20/20 hindsight the 10m cable is a bit of a waste and had I realised it came with the 4.5m (not sure how I missed that in all the reading I did  ) I would not have got it....but it was on sale cheap and I could not make it for what I have in it.

I think I mentioned this a couple of days ago but I finally gave in and bought a set of headspace gauges..
Below a quick info on why the gauge for 5.56 vs .223 is different.

I needed a rather large stock pot, at least larger than the kitchen pots she has ;). Made a quick trip to that store we love to hate (WM) for a ss 12 qt with steel lid. Under $10 for their store brand and quess what? Not chi-com made! Tiny lil print on the label says India made. It's not Cusinart or T Fal grade but it'll do for rendering or canning.
Now I'm off to make "18th century mushroom ketchup". Props to Jas Townsend and you can find the recipe on his you tube channel.

Needed a new T6 Torx driver and some snips for squirrel season.
Snagged both these at a True Value I'd never been in before. Both made in the USA.

Most definitely! I did a lot of hiking with it prior and sort of dialed in what I could get away with weight wise. Coming from a tac vest it was way more comfortable and out of the way. I'm most likely going to add the recon harness for H2O and rain gear, and first aid storage, that will make it perfect.
