This is a recent acquisition, and it has quickly become one of my favorite fixed blades.

    AiR Polar-2 from Zlatoust, Russia.

Zlatoust has a long history of being an industrial town, specializing in the production of some of the finest steels and blades in Russia. Similar to namesake towns that have been likened to their crafts, i.e. - Sandviken, Solingen, Gransfors etc., Zlatoust is no different.

What initially drew me to this knife is the unique laser engraving on the blade: the Big and Little Dipper, combined with Polaris in the middle. It was a reminder of my childhood growing up in Alaska, and it was something unique I've not seen on a blade before. This is also the first full-sized Stainless blade I have (aside from a SS Izula) and also the first knife I've owned to have a stacked leather handle (in addition the to Black Canvas Micarta on the haft and pommel).

The 95x18 steel is essentially the Russian equivalent of 440C, with the only difference being 0.20% Titanium mixed in. The blade performs and seems to hold an edge very well and the lenticular slopes (false swedge) along the spine makes it slightly more versatile for detailed tip work and penetrating tasks.

Overall, it is just a very cool and unique blade. Something that is different from what I normally look for in a knife, but it is good to get out of your comfort zone every once in a while. It was a cheap impulse buy, but I am already pretty attached to this knife and will be hanging on to it for life.

For some reason, I keep thinking this is the type of blade that @Reno Lewis would really dig (at least I like to think so, anyway). Burly, comfortable, utilitarian, and classic styling with a modern edge and design. :)

I do like that @Benson X , though, I'm not very fond of such a drastic belly. I've seen their work while browsing Lamnia, but never paid much heed to em. Might just have to look into their work a little more!

    How's the sheath?

It's not too bad, but it's nothing special either. Stitching is decent, welt is thick enough, has a small dangler and a fixed belt loop. The dangler loop is a little thin, but it seems to be holding up fine.

That's what I got coming on the NASK too! I'm still unsure if I'll like it as much as canvas micarta, but it seems to be a great material.

My grail Fiddleback 3/32" Bushfinger. I still think it's Andy's best design.
