Nice catch man! Those desert ironwood handles are definitely my favorite that they make. I'm not big on first production knives. It's only because I know that I lack couth and would be out batoning hickory with them. :D But for knives like those I would exercise some restraint and make room in the safe.

Thanks @Reno Lewis! I have had my eye on a BHK Patriot Scout for a while but now the Gary Wines Bushcrafter is going to make the decision difficult! They both look like great knives...

You too? That's also what attracted me to the Gary Wines. I configured a Scout on the BHK website and then chickened out on the price.

    @Kaw-liga

I have really been looking at the Patriot Scout for a while now. It may sound a little weird but I made found a picture of a Patriot Scout next to a ruler and made a cutout model of it out of cardboard to see how I like the feel and size. Planning on doing the same thing for the Gary Wines Bushcrafter to help me decide between the two...

The BHK was out of stock before but it looks like they got some more in at BladeHQ. $160 with sheath and free shipping I believe. https://www.bladehq.com/item--Battle-Horse-Knives-Patriot-Scout--49452

I know you saw it already but WildBill has an AWESOME Patriot Scout that can be found here about halfway down... http://eseeknives.com/forums/index.php?threads/the-bhk-brotherhood.1443/page-7#post-106920

Nice man! I haven't seen these on Blade HQ before, and they're one of the usual sites I do my window shopping on. That's a good deal. Thanks man.

I'm pretty sure my heart skips a beat every time I see that Scout of Bill's. You just don't see one like that everyday.

I used a PLSK Scout (same as the Platoon Scout) for years.

Was honestly one of my favorite all around knives, and I regret having let go of it. That and my PLSK1.

    Here are the two together.

Whoops, my bad, I thought the Patriot Scout and the PLSK Scout were one in the same, my bad.

Never knew they came out with a smaller Scout model, that's pretty neat.

Guess I'll leave the above pics up regardless though.

3V, with the right HT, is hands-down my favorite metal on the planet. (Besides whatever makes up Excalibur 7018 welding rods LOL). It holds an edge really well, takes an absolute beating, doesn’t necessarily NEED to be sharpened with diamond stones, and is overall really rust resistant for a carbon steel. The only dislike I have for it is that it has the possibility to pit when it does rust.

Somehow I won the monthly drawing over at the Pout House for August, and my prize just showed up today - a sweet little EDC in AEB-L steel! I really dig the combo of natty can and lime green liners....

LT Wright Knives? Yeah, I have a couple of them, and like them very much.
The top is an LT Wright JET that was a now discontinued limited edition.
The second was called the Patriot. (I think?)
The third was made by Blindhorse Knives, which LT was once a partner in.

This is almost my exact feelings about A2 other than A2 doesn't pit. Thankfully LT and crew do amazing work with both A2 and 3V.

I took this along for field survival back in July. I was not 100% sold on A2, but I had been using it for over a year doing light camping and practicing firecraft and wood processing. It got used pretty hard, to the point that there were minor chips in the cutting edge and it was noticably dull to me for the very first time. A quick run across my DMT set and a good stropping had it back to shaving sharp. I'm really impressed with the beating it endured and how easy it was to tune back up.
