I spent Christmas in Canaan Valley, WV with the family. Christmas Eve I went to a new area to me near Davis, Little Canaan Wildlife Management area. Had fresh 6 in of snow, wind was 20 to 30 mph. didn't notice in the woods, but open areas you could feel the wind chill.
Did 8.32 Miles, under 5 hours.

Also went to Thomas, WV and hiked a 3 mile round trip to the old town of Douglas to see the Douglas Falls.

Not really cold, problem was getting too hot. While hiking in the woods I had to open my coat to let the heat out. When I got to the open spaces I'd have to close my coat and cover my face to block the wind. Luckily I was moving and my clothes were pretty wind resistant. If I had to stay in the open for very long, it would be a problem.
