Liquor (whisky, gin, tequila, rum) with a focus on better ones

Pinot Noir is usually my go to since it has Smokey notes. You can find some that are aged in bourbon barrels too.

 

Yeah, we tried a Pino Nior and the wife wasn’t as much of a fan as she thought.

If they are all oak like or smoky she won’t like them.

Tried a Merlot also that wasn’t the best.


Had a Chianti before the other two. At first we weren’t sure, but after the other two decided it actually wasn’t too bad.

Just opened up a red blend that is pretty nice.
So many choices. I probably could have grabbed the Merlot that was to the left or right of the one I got and the taste could have been different.

That’s the struggle, just experimenting until we find what we like.

 

Have you tried a Zinfandel? They make some stunning Zinfandels in California and most are reasonably priced. From what you've said above I think your wife might like them.

 

Haven’t yet, I’ll put that next on the list.

 

Been drinking this lately. Decent whisky.

 

Finally opened the bottle of Heinrich Red blend we’ve had for a while.

Wife wasn’t in the mood, but tried it and liked it.

I drank over half the bottle, I suppose that means I liked it also.

Next time I visit the liquor store I’ll get another bottle to keep around.

Only gripe is it doesn’t have a cork that we can add to the collection, just a threaded cap.
